7) Looking back at your preliminary, what do you feel you have learnt in the progression from it to the full product?

Doing a preliminary helped me look in to what would come ahead as i would go in to making my real computer software made one. i learnt from the preliminary that detail is everything from making the magazine look real and of good quality to fake and of poor quality.

when making my preliminary and making my actual examination piece i took great care as to what was said and in case of any spelling mistakes. My editing and digital cutting skills were a lot more careful and neater looking. I took time to look for a suitable font rather than just use one of off the designing software it self. I also researched in to my final magazine a whole lot more with things like surveys and pie charts and questionnaires. were as for my preliminary magazine i produced it straight of the tip of my head, in one day.

6) What have you learned about technologies from the process of constructing this product?

To create my Final 3 pieces i used macromedia Fireworks. This is like a more simpler version of photoshop as i found when creating my magazine photoshop would crash. I also used blogspot and slidshare to keep my teacher regular and up to date with my content. i used my own photography very well setting up shots after school and different types of backdrops for my models to stand in front of, for me to get a good shot for my magazine. i used a DSLR Camera to get good quality shots, as the nature of the shots varied from outside to inside and from day to night.

5) How did you attract/address your audience?

Using RICHARD DYER – Utopian Solutions Theory (boredom vs. excitement; confusion vs. clarity)i have managed to offer them excitement and clarity thought plus interviews giving information and revealing things through interviews with the artists. i also applied BLUMLER & KATZ – Uses and gratifications Theory (inform, entertain, social interaction). i did this by the content page informing them of the pages and what topic is on that page. i also entertained my audience within the double page spread by letting them read and get incite in to an interview.

i also attracted and addressed my audience using Graham Burton's' 'Social and Media Grouping' Theory. The media Grouping for my specific audience would be that they listen to grime Artists and rap artists such as Ghetto, Wretch 32, Scorcher, Professor Green, eminem, wale and other various urban artists. Would read other magazines such as Vibe, Base and RWD Magazine. as these all are popular with my social grouping. My social Grouping For my magazine Would Be for ages 16 to 19, with the ethnicity predominantly Black African Or Jamaican. The Gender for my magazine is Male.

3) What kind of media institution might distribute your media product and why?

There are 3 main methods of distrubution . . .
Conventional distrubution is a delivery man distrubuting the magazine to a big retailer like WH Smiths, bieng on shelves with other magazines. the company Seymour is 50% owned by the Frontline Group (BBC Magazines, Haymarket Publications, Bauer) and 50% by Dennis Publishing Limited. At Seymour we have 13% share of the total magazine market and the Frontline Group, including Seymour, has 42% share. The reason for all these companies having a share in this 1 company, is because they all use this method of distrubution. an upside to this method is that your magazine is bieng put up on shelves n variouse stores. A down side to this method is that your magazine may not be placed at good place for all to see plus theres pleanty of competition around your own magazine.

There is also Subscription Distrubution in which the customer has the text put through there letter box. an upside to this would be that it's being given directly to the target audience, so no messing about with other magazines. a downside to this method of distrubution would be that once the text arrisves through the letter box the customer may think it's junk mail and throw it away and also if postage gets jumbled and lost.

The last method of distrubution would be Web 2.0 this is distrubution via the internet for example e-mail through phone handsets I-pad etc. When distrubuted in this fashion the magazine becomes an e-zine (Electronicle Magazine). The upside to this would be that it's keeping in line and in time with technology but a downside to this would be that not everyone uses the internet or handset to access things like E-zines.

Out of all these 3 distrubution methods i would use Web 2.0 to distrubute my content, as this is the popular growing market at the moment and is easier to deliver and create.
