2)How does your media product represent particular social groups?

The social groups i have represented through making this magazine are defiantly young people, male, ages between 19 & 16, with the ethnicity being mainly black but also white. the musicians are British and black but the white musician within the magazines helps to appeal to the white audience. my target audience would be D to C2 and the social grouping for my magazine would be that they watch programmes such as Big Bang Theory, rude tube, Family Guy etc. They would read other music magazines Like Vibe' Base and Rwd magazine.

The way i constructed the preferred meaning of my artist was by dressing him in a way my audience could relate to him with the funky trendy style of clothing. i also tried to make him look humble and calm on the front page by taking a photo of him sat down and looking quite cool. But once the page is opened, his personality jumps out at you, with a picture of him stood up, with a hand sign showing his tongue, representing him a s quite out going and lively.

i used red as a main page colour to attract and brighten the page up. red often given the connotation of bieng a very angry but passionate colour. i have used the facebook font as the main font because facebook is assocciated with the younger generation today and what better way to attract my target audience then by imcorparating something they use everday in to something they will want to read. i have manipulated the photos to be very bright so the artist is portrayed and represented in an upcoming good light.
